Course description
In this lively and interactive three-hour workshop, limited to eight participants, we’ll explore the particular peculiarities of shorter-form fiction, offering practical tools and inspiration to help develop our work in fresh and exciting ways. We’ll explore concepts such as originality, obstacles and transgressions through discussion and writing exercises, while gaining insight into the craft of short fiction by ‘reverse engineering’ a selection of notable stories. Together we will explore how the short story can’t help but break boundaries, and smash some of the barriers we often face when writing.
