Course description
In this unique and original workshop – led by highly acclaimed short story writer and novelist Ben Pester, and suitable for writers working in either form – we’ll discover ways to follow our imaginative impulses, ignoring 'rules' and finding new structures for our story practice. Through creative exercises, the sharing of work produced in the workshop, and by considering what elevates ‘writing’ into compelling fiction, we’ll focus on character as the driving force of stories, exploring first meetings, development, and how to say goodbye, learning how to unblock our writing and find the freedom to follow story wherever it takes us.
