Service Description

On this eight-week course, Jen Calleja, author of Vehicle (described by Kate Briggs as ‘an adventure into a new world order as well as the possibilities of the novel-form’ and ‘a feat of ungovernable imagination’), will take you on a journey into what experimental approaches can allow us to do as writers, introducing you to a broad range of innovative and surprising texts. Through a rich and varied selection of weekly writing prompts, readings and discussions, you will be inspired to take chances and risks with form, perspective and language, opening up your work to thrilling, expansive new horizons. You will also submit your own work twice a term, and receive supportive and constructive feedback from your fellow workshop members and the course tutor. Please note that each workshop lasts for ninety minutes - the additional five minutes shown on the session times are to ensure we're all ready to start on time. Additionally, due to an unavoidable commitment, the course tutor will not be available on 13th March, and that evening's session is therefore currently being rescheduled to either Tuesday 15th March or Tuesday 2nd April. We'll confirm the new date as soon as possible, but in the meantime, if you aren't available on either of those alternative dates, please check with us before booking!
